Biological foundation

In moderate-severe insomnia resistant to sleep hygiene, 150 mg CBD nightly is associated with better objective sleep efficiency and greater subjective well-being. Formulations with cannabinol (CBN) and sedative terpenes (myrcene, linalool) reinforce the effect.
Cochrane systematic reviews and IASP position statements recognise mild but clinically relevant reductions in chronic pain — particularly neuropathic — with balanced THC:CBD formulations. The indication is adjunctive, not first-line.
